4 Desk Hacks to Improve your Productivity
By making small improvements to your workspace, will boost your productivity and focus.
- Download and install a notification blocking app. Notification blocking apps allow you to turn off push notifications, enabling you to focus on the task at hand and not get distracted by a large number of notifications we receive nowadays.
- Use noise canceling headphones. A workplace can be full of noise distractions, especially in an open plan office environment, where you cannot shut a door on your office to block out noise or stop interruptions. Using noise canceling headphones is a great way to reduce unwanted noise, allowing you to focus and concentrate. Noise canceling headphones use a microphone embedded within the earpiece to sense ambient sounds. In response to the environmental sounds they detect, the headphones produce a sound wave that waves in the opposite direction, counteracting the noise rather than masking it with an opposing noise.
- Get a plant on your desk. Science Daily found that plants in the office significantly increased workplace satisfaction. The use of plants in the office helps to filter out indoor pollution and produce oxygen to help clear our minds.
- Stand Up. Taking regular breaks is one of the best ways to increase your productivity whilst at work. Stand up workstations are also a great way for employees to increase their movement throughout the work day.
